All twelve Area Agencies on Aging, each covering several counties, are members of the organization. The o4a Board of Directors is composed of the Director from each AAA. Standing committees meet regularly, bringing policy recommendations to the Board. When considering issues that influence the aging network, O4A determines the best course of action based on what will enhance the quality of life for the elderly.
The Association provides the following services to its members:
- Advocacy - o4a is involved with federal and state initiatives, maintaining dialogue with elected officials regarding the needs of older Ohioans.
- Training - An annual conference with informative workshops, Annual Advocacy in Action Event and Aging in Ohio Orientation are offered to provide AAA and aging network staff with essential components of quality program development.
- Communications - Information on pertinent aging issues and events is collected by the Association and disseminated to AAAs and other groups.
- Public Relations - o4a actively participates with many other aging-related groups and committees to enhance statewide coordination efforts and promote the AAA network.
