| April 2005 Client Story Sherry, a 20-year-old college student studying to be a teacher, was planning on dropping out of college to care for Robert, her 79-year-old grandfather. Robert has Parkinson’s disease and advanced dementia affecting his memory and ability to care for himself. With PASSPORT home care, Sherry can continue her education and become a high school teacher. Sherry continues to provide much of Robert’s care, but home delivered meals from PASSPORT and personal care services enable Sherry to remain in school. PASSPORT has enabled Sherry and Robert to remain a family. Robert, whose health continues to decline, can at least remain in a loving, caring, and familiar environment—the only home he has ever known. The impact that PASSPORT home care has had on Robert’s quality of life can never be measured, but can be seen in his ready smile and handshake as you meet him in his own home. |
