March 2005 Client Story

Betty has senile dementia. She receives transportation to and from the Alzheimer’s Association Adult Day Care five days a week. Betty benefits from the interaction of other residents and enjoys the variety of activities at the center. Betty’s daughter, Rhonda, whom Betty lives with, is able to continue to work and still have peace of mind that her mother is well taken care of and is having all of her needs met. Rhonda would not have been able to afford services on her own, as she needs to continue to work to support herself and her handicapped daughter. Rhonda provides much of Betty’s care, with PASSPORT providing transportation and adult day health services. With these minimal PASSPORT services, Betty can remain at home with her daughter and enjoy a happy, stable family life.
